Who Is Yung Vet?
Matthew Conklin founded Battle Mind Records in late 2013. Matthew Conklin, also known as Yung Vet, is a Texas native born in 1984. He has had a deep love and respect for music from a very young age. Conklin began writing poetry at the young age of 10 and later turned this passion into lyrics for music. Conklin comes from a military background with over seven years of service in the United States Army. During his time in service he traveled the world and was deployed twice to Iraq. Conklin has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Music Business and a Masters of Science Degree in Entertainment business. Conklin has written and released a total of 28 songs to date. After years of searching for a record deal for his own talent, Conklin decided to give up on trying to land a deal and chose to start a veteran based record label to help educate others on the struggles that veterans face. The main goal of Conklin, and Battle Mind Records, is to help struggling veterans and to help house homeless veterans. Conklin plans to use a portion of Battle Mind Records’ profits to assist homeless veterans in hopes to one-day end homelessness among our nation’s veterans.
